Hunting has remained with us since millions of years along with other food-producing activities and now it's governed by strict laws to protect the wildlife and the forest ecosystem.
This painting is a simple and interesting illustration of the multiple facets of our early society.
In olden days, a hunting procession consist of several-days journey with a lot of people accompanying the King or noblemen with elephants, horses and dogs camping in the jungle, while pursuing for the hunt. Dogs were popularly being taken along, with the purpose of guidance, protection and alertness.
Since ages now, hunting has been pursued as part of farming livestock, protecting crops from harmful animals, proving warrior abilities and as a leisure activity as well.
