Product Description
Govinda translates to the protector of the Land, Cows and the Senses!
Govinda is a beautiful name mentioned in Vishnu Sahasranama, and is used for Vishnu's Krishna avatar. When Krishna stayed in Gokulam during his childhood days as a cowherd boy, he tends to the cows and took them for grazing to the fields, along with his other cowherd friends. This painting shows Lord Krishna sitting under the tree near the pond with His cows near by, giving a sense of joy and serenity to the onlooker.
- This painting or chitra is printed on a Palm Leaf or Patra, hence the name Talapattachitra.
- It is a beautiful print of an original hand-painted artwork by an authentic Pattachitra artist.
- The Indian states of West Bengal and Odisha have their own style of painting Pattachitras & differ in their use of motifs and each style has been accorded Geographical Indicator Tag by the Govt. of India.
